I met Lei’ohu Ryder in March of the millennium year 2000.  She was the featured entertainer at a lu’au sponsored by a local church on the island of Maui.  I felt an immediate connection to the woman and to her music.  After the concert, I introduced myself and we shared a hug.  Little did I know that the hug would change my life.

 

During the ensuing years, I learned that Lei’ohu wears many hats:  teacher, writer, composer, musician, and wisdom keeper. 

 

I was a soul looking for a spiritual home.  Lei’ohu Ryder guided my footsteps into the world of the spirit through an ancient Hawaiian temple known as Kukuipuka, doorway to the Light. 

 

Lei’ohu never demanded, commanded nor judged; she guided, modeled, and offered responsibilities that I could either choose to pick up or not as I saw fit.  As I walked upon my journey of the spirit, she walked beside me, allowing me to grow at my own rate.  When my footsteps, faltered, she held me up.  When I moved forward, she rejoiced with me.

 

Through her Peace Team efforts, Lei’ohu Ryder sends out the children of her Maui classroom to share aloha with the people.  She travels the world carrying the message of healing, peace, and love, and sharing the Light\of Kukuipuka Heiau.
